Packaging and Label Design

Consistent branding and corporate identity is important to a successful marketing strategy. With a unique, recognizable brand you’re easily found by loyal customers, while attracting new ones. Ask yourself, “How do I look?” While branding encompasses every part of your business, I, as a graphic designer, focus on the visual parts. For many of our customers, we serve as both resource and THE source for their collateral, packaging and promotional materials.

Packaging is a vital part of your brand. Consistent, appealing label design & packaging design will make it easy for loyal customers to find you on the shelf. It will also invite new buyers to give you a try. As the “take-home” part of your brand, your labels and packaging need to stand out from the competition. As your Designer, I make this most visible part of your business shine.

In the label and packaging area, I get to work as a “translator” between my label design & packaging design customers and the in-house experts of the printing companies. Each printing process has its own set of technical specifications and limitations. Specs for flexographic printing (used on food packaging), for example, are extremely exacting, and must conform to not only the mechanics of the print process, but government guidelines as well. Your label design, including your logo, must be “broken down” and rebuilt in custom colors and shapes — and still look great in the final print! Then there are barcodes, ingredient listings, nutritional info panels, USDA and industry seals,….
